I had a lunch date with Laura on Tuesday. It just so happened to be Valentine's Day.
It... was polite. Which isn't how dates should go.
They should start polite, that's true. They should contain an opening exchange of pleasantries, then a witty exchange should be made, some chuckles should be had, and then the two people should be talking like old friends.
Our witty exchange never happened. Instead the polite pleasantries continued throughout lunch, with an interminable conversation about classes, study abroad, sports, siblings, nothing actually substantial.
We said we should "do this again sometime." I doubt we ever will. Back to chasing Karla then.
